It's based on the 12 step program used in AA that literary saved Matt's life. He also quit smoking cigarettes before he joined the church and suggests creating new habits to turn to when, in your case, you want to eat. Maybe chewing gum or sucking on mints. And you need to feel accountable to someone and build a positive support group around you, so good job blogging this. Lots of people want to support you! Also my mom takes natural supplements that are appetite suppressants. If you want I can see what they're called. I know you can do this Britt!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00389830729941237600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6201050124199510831.post-56344369007667771552012-11-10T09:38:24.560-07:002012-11-10T09:38:24.560-07:00Thanks a bunch Kierst. Made me feel good just to know I'm not alone.
Another contest would be great! Maybe we can do it on facebook and open it up to any of our friends!Britthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09978579977558675393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6201050124199510831.post-30910546827591112312012-11-10T08:20:26.465-07:002012-11-10T08:20:26.465-07:00For counting calories, I use the app myfitnesspal....For counting calories, I use the app myfitnesspal. I know you'r...We need to have another contest! I know you're not the only one in the family with this problem. I have it to a point. And I'm sure it's an issue Dad deals with. I'm not a very good example of the things I'm going to say, but at the risk of getting preachy, I'm going to leave some thoughts. First of all, I have a firm belief that if we are properly spiritually fed, that helps immensely. We read in the scriptures that the "natural man" is an enemy to God, but we can put off that "natural man" and become a saint through the atonement of Christ. The natural man is one who is addicted to junk food. We can put off that natural man through the atonement. That takes prayer and sacrifice, but it can be done. Make sure that you are spiritually where you need to be and you will be better able to cope with this. The church also has a really great addiction recovery program. I know that may sound a bit extreme, but it might be just what you need!

A couple more thoughts: Count your calories or at least write down EVERYTHING you eat. This will make you more accountable. Eat grapefruit. Or drink grapefruit juice. Whenever you feel you need sweets, substitute it with that. It's satisfying and really does help you lose weight. At least it does me. And whenever you feel like you really need something, substitute it with something healthy, like a smoothie (one with bananas and chocolate almond milk and spinach and peanut butter). At least you will be getting nutrients as well.

And really, if you want to start another contest, I'm in! Or Brooke, Rachel, and I started a blog. I haven't been on it in a long time, but maybe you should have Brooke give you log-in info so you can join us too!Kiersthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17446234991795273690noreply@blogger.com
